With the kickoff of Macworld underway one thing is certain, we are likely to see plenty of Apple related products highlighted over the next few days. That said, one of the first, and one that I would actually buy myself has recently been announced — the iPhone Car Kit from Navigon.

Still, while this is a Navigon iPhone Car Kit, and it is designed to work with the iPhone 4 — you can truly use it with any navigation app that you prefer. My first choice is the CoPilot apps. But that aside, the Navigon iPhone Car Kit consists of three pieces, the windshield dock, a USB car charger and an extra-long connection cable. And for those wondering what “extra-long” means, the cable measures in at 5 foot, which really means you should not have ay trouble reaching from your windshield down to your power adapter.

Moving on to the dock itself, and it seems this is actually “a stylish example of German tech design with its barely there look.” But poking fun at the description aside, the dock does appear to be nice looking based on the image provided. And seriously speaking in terms of the minimal design, for a windshield mount that is actually rather nice considering this could potentially obstruct your view of the road.

With that, the Navigon iPhone Car Kit is priced at $49.99, however if you make the purchase sometime before February 3rd you can save a few bucks and get it for $44.99.

And while this may be stating the obvious, this Car Kit would also be nice for someone looking to simply hook their iPhone up to play music. Granted that would require you to buy an Aux cable separately, however they can be found fairly inexpensive. But before you commit for the purpose of a mount to use as a GPS, make sure you either have the app or are prepared to buy one because that is not included.
