If there’s one new product announced at CES 2011 that I’m really looking forward to, it has to be this one from Nike - the Nike+ Sportwatch GPS. I could certainly use this gadget for my running activities. The Nike+ Sportwatch GPS is a collaboration between Nike and Tom Tom. It’s a beautifully designed sportswatch that connects you with to nikeplus.com. If you’re a serious runner, you’re probably a member of this community.
The Nike+ SportWatch GPS features a nice interface that provides you with the necessary information while you run. It also gives you some personalization option as well as motivational feature to enhance your running experience such as sounds, challenges, run reminders and more. The Sportswatch has three buttons and a full tap screen navigation. It captures your location information and shows you your running time, distance, paces and calories you’ve burned so far, similar to the information you get when you’re using a threadmill indoors.
Other features include - run history, personal records, quick start with optional shoe-based Nike+ Sensor, heart rate monitor, run reminders, post-run acknowledgement and encouragement and other motivational features.
The Nike+ SportWatch GPS will available in the U.S. and U.K markets starting April. Prices are still unknown at this time. Here’s a nice short product video.
